Senior employment-law capacity, on the terms your team needs.
What we do
Day-to-day employment counsel & workforce strategy
The employment questions that arrive weekly — performance, leaves, accommodations, exits, employee relations — and the workforce decisions that need judgment rather than a memo.
Workforce restructuring & global RIFs
Strategy through implementation for restructurings and reductions in force, adapted jurisdiction by jurisdiction and executed with care.
Employment disputes & litigation management
Senior in-house oversight and strategic ownership of significant disputes, agency matters, pre-litigation claims and active litigation, with appropriate defense counsel handling litigation execution.
M&A & transactions
Employment diligence, transaction support, the employment provisions and schedules in the purchase documents, and post-close integration.
Global employment & expansion
Hiring into new countries and new states, contractor and worker-classification projects, global policy rollouts and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
Policies, compliance & infrastructure
Handbooks, policy design across states and countries, audits, and the employment infrastructure a growing company eventually needs.
Investigations & sensitive employee matters
Executive complaints, workplace investigations and other sensitive matters that require experienced, independent judgment.
HR technology & employment operations
The employment side of systems and operational initiatives — data, process and policy implications, before they become problems.
A different role than outside counsel.
Outside counsel is invaluable when a company needs deep expertise in a particular jurisdiction, litigation counsel or specialized advice. KLG doesn't replace that expertise. We complement it by providing the senior, in-house perspective that connects specialized legal advice to the broader needs of the business.
KLG operates as an extension of your in-house team. We learn the business, understand the broader context and stay close enough to the work to help move it from legal analysis through execution. When specialist or local expertise is needed, we identify and coordinate the right resources, bring the advice back together and help translate it into a practical path forward.
That perspective comes from having done this work from inside global businesses, across industries. KLG brings both the legal judgment and the operational playbook: not only what the law requires, but how to put that guidance into practice within an existing organization, with its own people, processes, priorities and constraints.
For complex employment matters, getting the legal answer is often only one part of the job. Someone still has to weigh competing risks in light of the company's industry, business context and risk profile, align Legal, HR and business stakeholders, manage outside counsel across jurisdictions, make the pieces work together and keep the work moving.
One senior point of accountability
Not another adviser to manage. KLG owns the workstream end to end — the part that usually falls to a GC or an HR leader by default.
Legal project oversight
Identifying and prioritizing the issues, structuring the workstreams, coordinating stakeholders and synthesizing multiple legal inputs into one strategy. KLG turns advice into decisions the business can act on, and stays with the work through implementation.
Outside counsel management
The value isn't simply access to other lawyers. It's knowing when specialist advice is actually needed, selecting and instructing the right counsel, managing scope and spend, and pressure-testing the advice that comes back.
Global reach, built in
Deep experience across the U.S., EMEA and APAC, coordinating trusted local specialists where jurisdiction-specific advice is required, with one person holding the whole picture and one coherent strategy.
Kristy Grazioso is admitted in New York and New Jersey, where KLG provides direct legal execution. For matters requiring jurisdiction-specific expertise elsewhere, KLG provides strategic oversight, coordination and project leadership while engaging or working alongside appropriately qualified local counsel.
Two ways to engage
Fractional & Retainer Counsel
Ongoing or interim senior employment-law capacity, embedded with your team as Fractional Head of Employment Law, Chief HR Counsel, in-house employment counsel, gap coverage, or supplemental capacity for the team you already have. Institutional knowledge builds up, so nobody starts from zero.
Strategic Employment Counsel
Defined-scope support for a specific project, transaction, transition or period of elevated need — with the scope and the end point agreed up front, and one senior person accountable for getting it done.
When KLG makes sense
Usually it isn't a legal question that starts the conversation. It's a stage the company has reached.
